This very accomplished and original instrumental album (possibly
even categorized as jazz) was originally released on Sublight Records
in 2005, but due to the label's collapse, it went out of stock fast and
is now the diamond in the discography. In Jordan's own words, where
this album leaves off, "Soundtrack To A Vacant Life" begins. The
two blend seemlessly back to back.

The
album that brought so many of us here in the first place. Originally
released on Sublight Records in 2005, the album was immediately highly
regarded by reviewers and listeners alike. So highly regarded that one
of the tracks (Passage D) was featured in a Cannes and London
International Award winning short film called "Evolution". With extremes ranging from orchestral ambience to pounding breakcore, Kirlian Selections won't be forgotten anytime soon.

Well, finally, here it is.
Not only our first FLAC release but also the long-awaited precurser to
The Flashbulb's upcoming full-length album "Soundtrack To A Vacant
Life".
This is the first time we've heard new material from The Flashbulb in
years, and one thing is very relevant. Everything Benn Jordan did in
the past has been turned up a notch. Whether it be playing instruments,
writing melodies, programming synths, or engineering his albums, your
ears can sense the additional labor and seriousness in the music making
process.
The only song to be featured on the upcoming full-length album is 'That
Missing Week', and it doesn't disappoint as another mode of excitement
for the full-length due soon. I listened to this a couple times trying
to figure out what genre to place it into. I'm calling it Jazz. Jazz
seems to be founded on the business of breaking conventional rules, and
this EP, as expected, doesn't come short of that achievement.

DR. Lefty - Get Mad Now
(Digitally Mastered)

_________________________
1. Ah Shwe Bah
2. Get Mad Now
3. Log On
Do these 3 city crumbling cuts need introduction? In late 2003 a tiny
label called Reject Records emerged from Detroit wielding a limited
edition 12" split. The B side of this 12" went to an artist named Dr.
Lefty, and contained 3 of the most face-melting ragga/breakcore tracks
ever written. Soon this record arguably became the "hardest shit you
can drop" to many DJs.
Sure enough, years later we find out Dr. Lefty is in fact an old alias
of Benn Jordan's. This left the world with 2 problems:
1. All the 12" were long gone.
2. No digital copy exists from the masters.
Alphabasic to the rescue. We have a short order of remaining 12" for
sale, and now for just a fiver, you can get all 3 digitally mastered
tracks in lossless FLAC format.

This monstrous sequal to Benn Jordan's
Acidwolf can be labeled as the heart driving the genre dubbed "new
acid". Residing somewhere between analog melodic explorations and
dance-floor classics, Welcome To Chicago pushes the envelope of the
sometimes redundant acid house scene flowing out of Chicago, and has
become a favorite pool of selections from many DJs around the world.
Not a dull moment in a release voted an "instant classic".
